Catherine Daugherty of Storey House Flowers in Jefferson, GA enjoys creating garden inspired arrangements and bouquets. Using as much greenery and cut flowers from her gardens and working with seasonally appropriate blooms is where she gets her inspiration. Her goal is to always create a personalized experience whether it is for a large wedding or an arrangement for every day.
The love of flowers is a family affair for Catherine! Growing up, she was always surrounded by flowers, whether it was gathering from home gardens or helping her mother, Posy, with wedding flowers on the weekend. Beautiful flowers filled the family basement as buckets of fresh cuttings were transformed into beautiful arrangements. She and her sister began as assistants holding bouquets to be perfected and modeling flower crowns. As she grew older, she began with creating her own arrangements and bouquets, then progressing to multiple coordinated installments for events. After working together for many years, Catherine officially joined her mother’s business, Flowers by Posy, in 2014.
In 2020, as the world slowed down and Posy edged towards retirement, Storey House Flowers was born. Catherine and her husband had recently purchased and renovated the home her grandfather, Taylor Dickson Storey, grew up in. “When given the opportunity to buy this home, my husband and I jumped at the chance. I have fond memories of visiting and exploring the property as a child, and it had been in the family for over 100 years!” shares Caatherine. Built in 1882, the 140 year old home sits on 5 acres in the center of Jefferson, GA, with plenty of room to grow flowers and create the garden to table look she is so fond of. Best of all, it sits only a few doors away from Posy’s home!
